Balls at the ready…. Everyone’s favourite shrimp-serving American chain, Bubba Gump, is being table tennis Tuesdays fun again in its London Piccadilly branch.
From 12-9pm, you can now rock up and play everyone’s favourite tabletop sport while enjoying all the comfort food the Forrest Gump restaurant is known for. Book up to an hour for a singles or doubles game, and enjoy some free nachos and and a free drink on the house. There’s a £5 deposit for bat hire – but it’ll be refunded when you leave (assuming you don’t steal the bat, of course).
You can probably tell from the promo banner that this isn’t going to be a quiet evening meal…
The jazzily alliterated event is the perfect post-Monday hang out, with ping pong, beer pong and a delicious mini menu of the kind of things you want to snack on while playing both. The bite-sized portions of mini sliders, cajun shrimp and sausage, and frizzled onions are the perfect size for popping in your mouth between bats or throws, and none of them will set you back more than £8.
We went along to the launch night to see what all the fuss is about and it’s everything you’d expect an American ‘comfort food’ chain to be: buzzy, bold and completely over the top in the most chilled way possible. And it now has table tennis – what more could you want?
Clear your Tuesday evening because you’re going to want to put this one in the diary.
