Say Hello To Your New Girl Crush

Every year has its stars: actresses who rise out of nowhere to give a multi award-winning performance, bands whose tunes are playing everywhere you go and previously unknown supermodels whose faces are suddenly everywhere you look.

With the rise of social media, we’ve never been more surrounded by inspirational women. Instagram, twitter and Snapchat have given us a whole new level of access to who our favourite celebrities really are behind their red carpet guises, and with them brought more girl crushes than we can count.

These are the ladies who are set to shine in 2017 – and who are going to be giving you major #goals along the way.

If 2016 was the year of Gigi, 2017 looks set to be the year her younger sister takes the crown. We love how, despite the fact that they’re two of the most in-demand supermodels in the world right now, there’s no sibling rivalry here. Far from it, the Hadid sisters share catwalks, modchino campaigns and each other’s successes.

While we love Gigi for her All-American girl-next-door vibe, Bella has a sleeker appraoch to style that we can’t get enough of either.

Gal Gadot

Israeli-born actress Gal is an actress, model, businesswoman and real-life (sort of) Wonder Woman. Even though she’s been popping up more and more on our radar over the years, 2017 is sure to be her year. With a killer bod, adorably goofy personality and the savvy to run her own 5* hotel, we’d turn down all the Chanel bags in the world just to be her for a day.

Amber Bain

Better known by her stage name The Japanese House – chosen because of the house she once stayed in, which just happens to be owned by Kate Winslet – singer Amber Bain is everything we wish we’d been at age 20. With a laid-back style to match her ultimate chill sound, it’ll probably come as no surprise that Bain can normally be found hanging out in East London.

If you’re not ready to give up your mum jeans and choker necklaces yet, look no further than Amber for new ways to nail the 90s look.

Frances Bean Cobain

The daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney love, Frances Bean was pretty much destined to become an idol. And we couldn’t help but notice her when she took one of the coveted front row seats at Chanel’s SS17 show.

We love a girl who isn’t afraid to share the family love on social, and Cobain often posts pictures with her mum on Instagram – usually in outfits that are equally eccentric but spectacularly coordinated.

Adwoa Aboah

Let’s face it, as soon as someone joins Cara’s, we instantly have our eyes on them. And pretty much want to be them.

The latest supermodel to join Cara’s gang, Adwoa Aboah is no different, and right now we can’t get enough of  her boldly coloured outfits androgynous style. Some people just seem to basically breathe out cool and and Aboah is one of the lucky few.

Bel Powley

Even though Bel has been acting since she was 15, you probably don’t recognise her name. 2017 is the year when that’s probably going to change, with the actress swapping her low-key roles for Hollywood movies, starring alongside Dakota Fanning in Kirsten Dunst’s ‘The Bell Jar’ and sharing a screen with Liv Tyler in horror flick ‘The Wildling’ this year.

Simi and Haze

Another sister duo smashing their game, Simi and Haze Khadra have been favourites here at PlusMinus since we partied with them during London Fashion Week. The Palestinian twins, who were born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Dubai, have already played Coachella and gained an impressive Instagram following thanks to their effortless style and arty shots. Watch this space – we predict big things for these ladies.
