London is full of shops, trust us we know. However, not many are able to turn our heads for the right reasons. Enter Mira Sadi, a designer in her own right, has created the place to be; PRISM. This isn’t just any new store, this is a boutique with a conscious.

Mira Sadi founded PRISM to promote international, independent, socially conscious and luxury brands. You can find PRISM in the exclusive setting of Knightsbridge, on the tantalising retail Mecca: Brompton Road.

PRISM supports and showcases brands with a social cause and an impetus for implementing change. With brands all hand picked by Mira herself. Including PM Basics, By Sage, Strey, Twisted Roots, Sadi’s own exquisite jewellery collection M I R A and many many more.

We are all about the new and the now, so we sat down with Mira to get all the info. Where did the inspiration for PRISM come from?

I  wanted to create a space where slow luxury brands that go beyond the aesthetic may have a platform to grow on multiple dimensions.  PRISM goes against the trends of fast fashion and mindless consumerism through promoting independent designers that hold a strong message, own the traditional sense of craftsmanship, and have intricate thought behind their designs.

We love the new take on a luxury store, who is this store for?

Primarily, we cater to those who have individual style and seek distinguished designs, not necessarily following fashion trends.

In parallel, however, we seek to provoke thought in the mindful consumer, those who appreciate slow luxury fashion, and the value of sustainable products.

In choosing the brands, what drew you to them?

When picking the brands, I need to ensure that the two main pillars of PRISM are met; unique design and responsible values.

I pick brands that stand for something, do it with high ethical values, and provide cool luxury pieces that are guaranteed to stop any show!We are all about the new and the now, so we sat down with Mira to get all the info. Some of the brands support LGBTQ+ causes – was this a conscious decision?

PM Basics is our partner brand that supports LGBTQ causes and rights. Our other partner brands, however, all support different causes, ranging from female self-determination to green fashion, to helping stray animals.

PRISM is not focused on specific causes. Rather we aim to promote brands that support any form of positive change and impact in our word.

PRISM is very new, but where would you love to see it in 5 years time?

I would like PRISM to be an established destination for all those seeking luxury slow fashion, reaching mindful fashionistas from across the globe.

Simultaneously, I would like it to become an inspiration and platform to grow all independent designers seeking to make a positive impact on our world through the power of fashion.

Ultimately, I’d like PRISM to start a revolution. The revolution of the people. I want every individual to understand, appreciate, and optimise on the power of the one. To comprehend that yes, you as an individual make a difference in our world. When individuals come together, we are no longer alone.

If you could pick anything in the store right now, what would it be?

This is probably the hardest question to answer! I will have to choose the white embroidered kaftan by PM Basics in collaboration with Amira Behbehani.

Amira is a Kuwaiti artist who advocates for female equality whilst PM basics advocates for equality amongst the sexes, I absolutely love what they both stand for. This piece is the epitome of intricate craftsmanship and design with female contours hand stitched throughout. I feel like a Goddess when I have this piece on.
