OSPREY LONDON is one those rare brands that knows exactly what its customers want.
It’s also a brand that is built on a solid foundation of unrelenting passion. From real fossil cufflinks to the snakeskin-inspired clutches (more on those later), founder Graeme Ellisdon injects snippets of his interests into every item. It only takes one glance around the flagship store in Regent Street to see how much thought and detail goes into everything from the products themselves to the visual merchandising to create such a cohesive brand identity.
Every single OSPREY LONDON product is personally sourced by Graeme – who travels the world in search of artisans and inspiration – and has a unique story to tell.
Darjeeling tea may seem like a slightly picking amongst the fashion and lifestyle pieces, but is a product of Graeme’s fascination with tea, sparked by the years he spent working in India.
Inspired by one of his sons’ old rugby balls, the rugby ball grooming bag is perhaps the most endearing of them all. The bag, which has now been replicated several times, came to realisation when Graeme found a deflated ball under his car and continues to be a star piece for the brand.
Graeme takes his stories and transforms them into the products that you want to own – at prices that mean you can. Achieving the perfect balance between individuality, trends and timelessness, OSPREY LONDON has found a level of affordable luxury that feels exclusive yet accessible and appeals to everyone in some way. We defy you to spend 10 minutes in an OSPREY LONDON store and not fall in love.
The A/W15 range certainly had us falling in love when we previewed it. The leather python print clutches and tote bags strike the balance between classic and modern perfectly by combining a timeless print with modern tassel detailing and an unexpected suede lining.
Other bags that grabbed our eye include a leather backpack in this season’s shade of oxblood. Part of the O.S.P range, its adjustable strap means you get both a backpack and shoulder bag in one for just £125. For lovers of bright colours, OSPREY LONDON will be releasing its best-selling Riva bag in three new colours: purple, hot pink and green.
When you walk into OSPREY LONDON, you can be sure that you’re buying something with a story to tell, and we could spend all day listening to the stories that inspired Graeme to create the pieces that sit inside the store. It is these personal touches that transform a visit to OSPREY LONDON’s flagship store from a little bit of retail therapy to an immersive – and almost emotional – experience.
