Here at Plus Minus we are obsessed with all things beauty if you didn’t already know. If it isn’t getting our paws on the latest beauty releases or researching what the next trends will be, we take our beauty obsession seriously. We’re excited for London Fashion week in a couple of weeks but before that we’ll be celebrating London’s first ever beauty week.
London Beauty Week (Wednesday 11th– Sunday 15th September) will transform Covent Garden into a beauty hub this September, boasting an exciting schedule of events from panel discussions hosted by leading industry experts; a pop up interactive Beauty Playground featuring installations by top beauty brands and exciting in-store events; and a Glossybox treasure hunt. London Beauty Week will celebrate Covent Garden’s position as the capital’s Beauty Quarter and pay homage to the power of the British beauty industry.
From Wednesday 11th September, Londoners can join in the beauty conversation and book a seat at panel discussions hosted at 13-14 Floral Street in Covent Garden. Shining a light on London’s important role in the global beauty industry, the carefully curated schedule will bring together influential industry voices, talking about subjects including Sustainability is not a slogan; Changing the beauty conversation on Instagram; Men in Beauty; Beauty Fake News; The Business of Beauty and Conscious Beauty. Panellists and hosts across the week will include Charlie Howard (Model, Author and Activist), Anna Marie Solowij (Beauty Journalist & Co Founder of @BeautyMARTUK), Jasmine Hemsley (Author and Co Founder of Hemsley & Hemsley), Genna Osler (Industry Head FMCG at Facebook), Deborah Joseph (Editor In Chief, Glamour Magazine), Jayn Sterland (Managing Director, Weleda), Rhian Stephenson (CEO, Psycle), Rachel Horsefield (CEO, The Hut Group), and more. Attendees will get limited edition goody bags, with tickets priced at £10 and all proceeds going direct to charity Beauty Banks. Tickets are available from EventBrite now.
Brands across Covent Garden will join the celebrations and offer late night shopping and exclusive events for Londoners and visitors for the duration of London Beauty Week. Beauty lovers can pop into Aesop’s stunning King Street store, which will be adorned with fresh flower arrangements, for a bespoke skincare consultation, or visit Chanel on Friday 13th September or Saturday 14th September where illustrator Melissa Bailey will be on-hand to capture the results of the brand’s incredible express services. Jo Malone London will host an exclusive cocktail evening on Thursday 12th September and a special Poppy & Barley Flower Arranging Masterclass, led by expert florist Wild Things, over London Beauty Week weekend. Those who love the glamour of the runway should reserve a space at Tom Ford who will be serving Metallique inspired cocktails to an intimate group and providing a demonstration on how to achieve Tom Ford catwalk looks.
Additional in-store events, experiences and installations can be enjoyed across Covent Garden beauty brand favourites, including Atelier Cologne, Miller Harris, Molton Brown, Ted Baker and Trevor Sorbie and The Alkemistry. Covent Garden is home to London’s best beauty brands and experiences, further including Dior, NARS, Deciem, Penhaligon’s, Aesop and more, making it the perfect destination to host London’s inaugural London Beauty Week.
The line up is better than any festival we’ve been to this summer and we cannot wait to get down to Covent Garden barefaced and leave with a full-beat. Will you be heading down?
