Keep reading for all our hot weather makeup tips.
It’s all about the prep
Okay so cleansing and moisturising your skin is so important when you are going to be hot is super important. Any excess oil will break makeup down even quicker in heat. So cleanse thoroughly, and then use a serum and a moisturiser preferable with a SPF of at least 15.
This will make sure that your skin is ready to receive makeup.
Repeat after us, I MUST PRIME MY SKIN. Primer will go one step further to making sure your skin is the best condition. Primer will increase the length your makeup will last.
Being honest with you there are practically thousands of primers, so we advice you research the right one for you. We adore the ones from Makeup obsession, there are 4 to choose from, they are £6 and last forever.
However you choose to print your skin, really consider it to extend the life of your makeup.
We talked about this last week, but it will be an added layer if you need it. A physical sunscreen sits on top of your skin, and acts as a block for UVA and UVB rays. However, it will also control the oil and sweat in your skin.
This physical barrier needs to be well chosen, but will help you if you needed it.
A foundation suited to your skin
Okay so this may sound odd, but it is actually very important to ensure that you get the most out of your face. If you have oily skin, then an oil free formulation will sit so well on your skin, and last even when you are being literally grilled on the central line.
Again this needs through research, we have heard amazing things about Estée Lauder, and Number 7.
You powder right?
Any cream product on your face normally can be left to have a dewy finish. Yet in hot weather these products will slip and slide all over the show if left unset. So you need to be using a translucent powered to lock those products into your skin. You can use a brush, or a powder puff to really beat it into the skin.
It literally does what it says it does on the tin, or bottle. Setting spray will lock your entire face in place and will ensure that your full face of makeup will last at least 12 hours.
Through the day, if you happen too sweat, there are some things you need to do. Try and leave it to dry, or blot with blotting paper to tissue.
Once it has dried, powder over the top, and you are good to go. You can also refresh your face by giving it a powder and then a mist of setting spray over the top!
