In the heart of buzzing Oxford Street, ECCO relaunch their UK flagship store bringing Scandinavian design through their shoes and accessories collection for women, men and kids, and we are excited.
The premium footwear and leather accessories brand has been the guarantor of stylish quality and functionality true to their Danish heritage. A true rarity in the footwear industry, ECCO has been around since 1963 and is unique in its determination to keep control on their whole production line from the making of the leather in their own tanneries, to the design of their collections and production of the shoes.
If quality and functionality are intrinsic to the Danish values, design is surely as important. And with the opening of their flagship store just a couple of footsteps away from Bond Street, ECCO is there to prove it. The 225 square metre space furnished with pieces by noted designers Muuti and Le Klint brings to life the Scandinavian philosophy of modernism and functionalism.
The silence in the spatial arrangement and the luminosity brought in by the double fronted windows make the shopping experience at ECCO a peaceful moment against the agitation of the city.
If ECCO has put design in the centre of its flagship store concept, it is to emphasis on their decision to move into a real fashion forward direction. Indeed, the Autumn/Winter 2015 range includes 2 brand new collections.
With ECCO Soft 7, black and white take on the classic high-top sneakers and give it a spin. The preppy sporty look of the collection manages the delicate balance between edginess and unpretentious design to give our style a boost.
The other new collection is Ecco Intrinsic, featuring ECCO’s direct injection sole technology. The collection perfectly illustrates their belief that you don’t need to sacrifice style for comfort.
With autumn already knocking on London’s door, our feet could certainly do with a bit of Danish flair and hit the pavement in stylish simplicity.
