Enter the realm of Ji Cheng; one of Asia’s most renowned fashion designers. With the Autumn/Winter 2015 season fast on the approach, Ji Cheng presents Paramount, the latest contemporary Chinese fashion collection fusing Eastern influences with Western tailoring.
Inspired by the ultra glamorous 1930’s Paramount ballroom in Shangai, the new collection oozes elegance, featuring evening-wear detailed with exotic feathers, sequins, and tassels reminiscent of a 1930’s starlet. The collection embodies native culture, incorporating the popular dragon motif, heavy rope stitching, capelets, and dress jacket, firmly reinforcing Ji Cheng’s position as China’s defining face of fashion.
The seasoned award-winning fashion designer has been making waves across Asia since 2002, armed with 16 stockists as well as three own-label boutiques. Creating a storm worldwide, recently, Ji Cheng teamed up with American pop sensation Taylor Swift for a collaboration with Toyota, presenting the perfect match of East meets West. The venture showcased a variety of tailor-made dresses, as well as the renowned ‘wing sweatshirt’ which has sold over 10,000 pieces breaking sales records.
With a keen celebrity following, as well as praise from magazines including Vogue and Elle, Cheng is definitely the up-and-coming designer to watch out for. Look out for expansion of the brand within London soon!
