What do you get when you cross an Italian hotspot with a Scottish celebration? Haggis pizza of course…
In celebration of Burn’s night next week, this is exactly what VICO will be serving up.
Diners of Soho’s answer to Rome can expect to have their tastebuds tantalised by ‘The Buristo’, which will combine haggis, half-moon slices of Italian black pudding and Cardoncelli mushrooms, topped off with parsley and raddichio.
Your boring old margherita will never taste the same again…
And once you’ve devoured this, you can indulge in the restaurant’s special Burn’s whisky sundae, consisting of no less than three scoops of homemade gelato, crumbled shortbread and a generous drizzling of whisky hot chocolate sauce on top.
In fact, the restaurant, which is the little sister of Bocca Di Lupo in Piccadilly Circus, only entered the scene in 2016 but it has fast built up a booming reputation, scoring an impressive 4.2 on TripAdvisor.
This can be attributed to a simple yet authentic menu which succeeds in adding a twist to traditional Italian cuisine. The marriage of flavours is always carefully thought out and one of our favourite dishes is the Oxtail Ravioli which combines cocoa powder, celery and pine nuts. It shouldn’t work but, mark our words, it really, really does!
Despite its huge capacity, VICO is usually over-spilling with those eager for a slice (or ten) of the action, so book to avoid disappointment.
